What To Do When I Get Home?

We all deal with a similar dilemma, deciding how to spend our time when our time becomes our own. We all want to believe we are ambitious, determined, focused. Look at the rise in certain drug use. Feeling these kinds of ways enables us to feel more efficient, which in turn makes us feel ambitious, determined, and focused, which makes us feel more efficient. I only repeat myself, to express that it is a loop. Lets take the loop the other direction.

You feel tired, overwork, irritable, which enables you to feel sluggish. After all, you have already worked so hard already. So you do not act efficiently, which in turn makes you feel justifiably tired, overworked, and irritable because of how much work you have ahead of you.

I have lived, and will probably continue to live, both versions of these stories. Like everyone else, I am human. I want to express my vulnerability only to really underline that i know the same is true for you. The truth is, (pause) we all suck sometimes. (Sigh) Sometimes we suck at driving behind. Sometimes we suck to be around. Sometimes we suck at being parents. Sometimes we suck at being lovers. Sometimes we suck at sports, or our jobs, or making points, or writing..... ;) Regardless, we all suck really bad, . . . on occasion. lol That is not the end of your story though.

Sometimes we are on top, and know we can crush anything, as gracefully and strategically as possible. I am really tempted to run down the list on all the stuff i crush on a day-to-day basis, after all i admitted that i suck. (It is so hard to write a dry humored joke) Some time down the road i will include a sample of my "to-do" list, but for now, the list belongs to me, and my list is hardly the point. You should have your own. I promise you won't be as proud of mine as you are of yours.

I'm glad people can joke and share their shortcomings. When it comes to people's goals, it would be hard to truly understand the importance and impact of the items that make it on other's lists. I am not ashamed of my list, but there is more to someone's list than their obligations. I don't have to spend time with my family, but there are times where i really want to. I want to be a good father, though, i am starting to realize, it is easy to fall short. So I make it a priority, but our priorities might be different.

Maybe you don't have kids, or you just want to be good at something. Right now, you have the option to get started. It will probably not happen all at once, but that is the joy of the journey, you get to experience it. As it turns out, practice does not make perfect, but I bet it doesn't hurt. Maybe, with the right attitude, and focus, practice can get you closer to perfection. You have to take action if you are ever going to find out. So make a plan and get something done for yourself.

I know it is a Friday, but accomplishing tasks and objectives early on in your weekend, makes it easier to keep going. Snowball your efforts and get some of "your" work done. Don't forget, rest is just as important, but give your self a reason to deserve it.
